HobbiesMy Mac, my wife and kidsProfessionFirst Level Support Engineer
Mac user since1985Using mac forAlles waarvoor anderen een PC-ke kopen omdat ze denken dat een Mac dat niet kan...zelfs meer als 't echt moet.

Everything someone else buys a PC for because they think a Mac can't do the job and sometimes I even do more....

I'm a huge fan of the Sonic games and spin offs. First on my Sega Mega Drive (Genesis in US) and now on the Playstation 2. Sonic Mega Collection and Gems Collection brought back all those older Sonic games to the PS2, but also Sonic Heroes and Shadow The Hedgehog are my favourite games.

But the main reason why I'm in this list of regulars from #apple is because I'm a Mac freak. I do own a collection of older Macs.
And this is me ;-)

And here it is, my Mac. I'm happy to have my Mac even
if it isn't the most recent high end Mac.
This Mac just does what I wanted it to do and... This Mac does it well. But I've upgraded her a bit. A Superdrive replaced the Combodrive, added a bunch of extra RAM (1 GB), a pair of 80GB Western Digital Hard Disks, a 40 GB Maxtor and a USB 2.0 pci card. A DLink Blue Tooth dongle allows me to (i)Synch with my Sony Ericson K700i cell phone.

By the way, below you'll find a limited overview of the old Macs I own.
Also I do own some Macintosh IIcx (3 and not working yet), a few LC's, LCII and LCIII (in stock), a PowerMac 6100/60 and a lot of other Mac-related stuff (software, upgrade packs, network cards, TV cards, Keyboard, mice, modems and so on and so on. For most of these cards I'm still looking for drivers But they're realy hard to find. For some I even gave up looking. I gues not everything is on the Internet...
Most of these Macs I got from people who wanted to get rid of them and knew I have this collection of Macs, some of them I bought for a few Euro's.
But most important these aren't my everyday Mac(s). I own a PowerMac G4 and my wife uses a iMac G3. It's just a -for some people- weird hobby of me. But I want to prove that you don't need to throw away older Macs. You can find something to make them usefull or if you don't just send them to me :-) I know what to do with them.

The older museum Macs are connected through an 8-port 3Com Hub to a Linksys BEFS41 Etherfast Cable/DSL Broadband Router. At the moment I don't use wireless connections but decent UTP CAT5 network cables.

Some people might "reactivate" their old Mac(s). Well Apple is a great help because they have made system 7.5.3 available. It can run on most 68k and early PPC Macs.

You can download Apple's free System 7.5.3 for your older Mac?
Also to get some scsi devices running and mounting you might need Adaptec's SCSI Probe This small application runs on all Classic Mac OS -es.
Anyway: If you like Macs you'll enjoy this visit, I'm sure.
